Another Shadow Cast
0:57am, as I peer out into the impenetrable darkness that surrounds me. My breath freezes like a fog lost in time, and the walls are closing in on me. The sound my every movement is reverberated to a piercing scrape, entering my ear and extracting my sense of reason. My memory of the past several days is minimal, flashes of a long winding path, a broken mirror and blood stained eyes. My voice wanders on, but my mind becomes fixed on figure just across from me. A shadow cast by a non-existent light source, just stares back with blackened eyes, as I slip out of consciousness again.
