THE VULNERABILITY OF NATURE IN THE HANDS OF MAN | Acrylic on Canvas, 2010, 60 x 40 cm
The visual counterpart to my poem A Falling Through, we are presented with a figure, framed by long theatrical curtains forming a corridor into a bright white light. In the figure’s offered hands, a garden bird lies motionless. The lemniscate symbol, representing infinity, can be seen above the figure’s head. The word “lemniscate” is Latin for ribbon; when twisted and joined at both ends, it forms an infinite looping plane.
